Our traditional authentic Mongolian Yurt is to be found positioned in a secluded field, a short bike ride from the beautiful West Sussex coast. It is ideal for families, or for people that want to step off the treadmill to enjoy the country side with a bit of comfort. A fantastic holiday in a yurt, Chichester, West Sussex.

The yurt is five meters across and sits on a deck keeping it nice and dry. It can sleep four and has an electric power point for lighting and any low demanding services such as a laptop, phone charging, or a radio (provided.). The walls are made of steamed, shaped willow, insulated with goat hair felt and lined with silk. In the centre is a cosy wood burner with its double lined flue going out through the crown wheel cap. There is a comfortable double bed from where you can look up to an amazing roof structure. The door faces east to catch the sunrise and is a joy to look through in the early morning.

Offering wonderful views of Chichester Harbour and the South Downs beyond, the natural and unspoilt sandy beach of West Wittering has been a favourite destination for a family day out for generations.

The highest water quality and excellent facilities have made it one of the premier Blue Flag beaches in the country. The sea is popular with wind and kite surfers, while shallow lagoons are left on extensive sandy flats at low tide. The whole area is internationally recognised for its wildlife, birds and unique beauty.

The Beach Café consists of a coffee shop, a takeaway, several outlets selling ice-cream and drinks, and a beach goods shop.

We are only 10 minutes from the Wittering sandy beaches.

One of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK, Chichester has played a key role of the affairs of Sussex since at least Roman times. Today, Chichester is the prosperous administrative capital of West Sussex and a great place for shopping, but it's hard to avoid Chichester's links to its illustrious past.

Chichester city centre's broad streets are packed with listed buildings, with the list headed by the towering presence of Chichester Cathedral, now home to a family of peregrine falcons who can be heard as they swoop over the city at dusk.

The pedestrianised city centre is neatly enclosed within the ancient city walls and this helps to make Chichester compact and pleasant to explore on foot. There are plenty of good shops in Chichester and the city serves as the main shopping centre for the area.

Our yurt field has many varieties of tall grasses and is visited by deer, foxes, barn owls, jays, woodpeckers and many more species of wild life. There is access to a public footpath.

Everything is provided for a comfortable stay including bedding, gas for the cookers, fire wood and kindling for the wood burner and outside fires. Tea, coffee, sugar and many other items such as salt pepper, sugar are also provided.

All you have to do is turn up with perhaps a trip to the supermarket on the way to buy your food to cook for your main meals. Wittering shops are only 10 minutes away or 20 minutes to Chichester.

Most of the cooking can be done outside although there are two small gas cookers inside the yurt. Should the weather be restricting, we have a large glass house, complete with table chairs, a larger gas cooker, settee and radio, surrounded by plants, both floral and edible, which you are welcome to sample! However if camp cooking isn’t your thing, there are loads of great places in the locality where one can dine out.

There is so much to do in this delightful part of the country such as Glorious Goodwood, the Festival of Speed, the Chichester Festival Theatre and now we have the newly created managed retreat wetlands. It’s well worth a visit.

And just a final note to say that help and advice is just a mobile phone call away, (a jug of milk or fire that won’t light, etc.) Someone is on hand to help.
